假山号称天下第一石，是造山的绝佳材料
总体假山可分为软石类和硬石类。各种假山石材料,其用途及用法各不相同,有斧劈石、雪化石、 千层石、五彩石、英德石、芦管石、海母石、石笋石、灵璧石、卵石等三十余种,均为石谱所列之上品,蜚声海内外。

一、太湖石假山

太湖石形态各异，造型万千，色泽主要以白色为主。主要是在河湖水中经水波冲刷侵蚀或是经酸性红土中侵蚀形成。以太湖石造型的假山，最有“皱、漏、瘦、透”之美。

灵璧石为石灰岩的一种，色调主要以黑色为主，在表面常有花纹。产于安徽省灵璧县，因此而得名。其形各异，或似仙山名岳，或似珍禽异兽，或似名媛诗仙。号称天下第一石，是造山的绝佳材料。
